In Afghanistan
Approximately 4 million girls are denied their fundamental right, access to education, due to the Taliban’s ban on girls’ secondary schools in the country, and the number of those who cannot access tertiary education institutions remains unknown.

The Alekian Foundation provides these girls access to quality secondary education. We offer accredited online high school education through our partner, Smart Schools International, and resrouces to ensure these girls and women can thrive academically in hight school and beyond. How We Work
At the Alekain Foundation, we are dedicated to transforming the lives of women and girls in Afghanistan by providing access to free online high school education, vital resources, and technological support in partnership with Smart Schools International. Further, we connect students with a global network of mentors and institutions, ensuring their academic growth and success.
Beyond high school, we offer college admissions guidance and comprehensive English language training, equipping our students with the tools they need to excel and shape a brighter future.

At Alekain, our mission is to create and enlighten pathways for girls and women in Afghanistan to pursue quality-accredited online high school education at our partner, Smart schools Internationals, and be able to continue their higher education, ensuring their journey continues seamlessly into college and beyond.
