The Alekain Foundation empowers girls and women by providing them an opportunity to pursue their dreams of continuing their education at a high school level and beyond. We are on a mission to defy the Taliban’s ban on girls’ education in Afghanistan.
In Afghanistan
Approximately 4 million girls are denied their fundamental right, access to education, due to the Taliban’s ban on girls’ secondary schools in the country, and the number of those who cannot access tertiary education institutions remains unknown.
