Erica Olson, owner of Anassa Consulting, is an expert in gender-based violence and trauma, advising the nonprofit, public and government sectors in advancing their knowledge and efforts on these issues.

Her 24+ year career spans from direct services, advocacy, and programming to policy, technical assistance, and research. Ms. Olson has served and provided leadership on state and national efforts, including SART and DART teams, task forces, and the CDC’s Rape Prevention and Education Program and National Violent Death Reporting System. Her international efforts include serving as an ambassador and a member of Women for Women International’s Program Advisory Board as well as work in Uganda and training for UN Women.

Ms. Olson has co-authored curricula, policy, regulations, and legislation. Her work has been published in the peer-reviewed Victims and Violence.


Ms. Olson holds a Masters in Social Service and a Masters in Law and Social Policy from Bryn Mawr College, Certification in Human Subjects Research, and a Certificate in Public Policy Analysis from the London School of Economics and Political Science. Her current projects include work on the PAIR study replicating and expanding research on danger assessment in domestic abuse cases and recently joining RESPOND Against Violence as fractional COO.
