Nasir Kaihan

Founder and CEO

Nasir Kaihan is a Ph.D. candidate in Education Policy and Evaluation at Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College, Arizona State University, where he also serves as a Project Manager for the Arizona Refugee Career Pathways program for Education for Humanity under the International Development Initiative.

Margarita Pivovarova

Trustee Member

Margarita Pivovarova is an economist by education and a passionate advocate for public education for all. After earning her PhD in Economics from the University of Toronto, she joined Mary Lou Fulton Teacher College to advance the understanding of what works and what does not in education.

Anthony D. Fusco Jr. (Tony)

Trustee Member

Anthony D. Fusco Jr. (Tony) is the Associate Director of Education at the AZJHS. He also serves on the Phoenix Holocaust Association Board, the Honey Girl Inc. Board, ADE’s Holocaust & Genocide Task Force, and the Arizona Anti-Defamation League Education Committee.

Azizullah Tamjeed

Treasure/Officer, Finance & Administration

Azizullah Tamjeed is a seasoned professional in the education industry with over five years of experience. He holds a Master’s in Global Management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management at Arizona State University and a Master’s and Bachelor’s in Educational Management from Kabul University.

Ambassador Edward B. O’Donnell

 

 

Chairman, Board of Directors

Ambassador O’Donnell co-founded ASU’s Leadership, Diplomacy, and National Security Lab (LDNS Lab). He is a professor of practice at the School of Politics and Global Studies (SPGS), the Barrett Honors Faculty.

Joanna Zimmerman

Trustee Member

Joanna is the Director of International Grant Initiatives at EdPlus at Arizona State University (ASU), where she oversees the Baobab social learning platform that serves more than 70,000 African youth, solving the continent’s most pressing challenges.

Sudaba Parnian Ahmadi

Trustee Member

Sudaba Parnian Ahmadi is a seasoned Monitoring and Evaluation expert with over a decade of experience in the Public Health and Education sectors. Currently, she serves as the Manager of M&E at the Association of Public Health Laboratories in the Washington, DC, area, where she leads strategic evaluation efforts and co-leads DEI initiatives.

Joan Lowell

Treasure/ Trustee Member

Joan has served on multiple boards of directors of nonprofits and family foundations, addressing education, homelessness, healthcare, and refugee settlement. She currently is a board member for three nonprofits and two family foundations. Joan has held leadership positions in the nonprofit sector for over 30 years. She served as Executive Director of Hospice of the Valley from 1983 to 1994.

Jessica Marie Buchanan

Trustee Member

Ms. Buchanan has over 17 years of experience managing complex international education projects. Her areas of technical expertise include scholarship management and recruitment, English language acquisition, curriculum development, teacher training, and participant-based programming. She brings expertise in strategic planning, business development, grants management, financial oversight, and partnership development

Yosuf Warastah

Vice President

Yosuf is a dedicated education professional with over a decade of extensive experience in education administration across various institutions. He holds an MS in Higher Education Administration, a BA in English Language and Literature, and is CELTA certified. Additionally, he is a distinguished Fulbright Master’s Degree Fellow.
